Dear Friends,

Happy New Year to you all! Laura, the kids, and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in my old homeland where we spent Christmas with family. It had been too long. We also spent some time visiting a dear friend in Shropshire. The countryside in Western England is staggeringly beautiful. I highly recommend it to any of you considering a trip across the pond.

The end of 2018 seemed to be the season for revisiting my older designs. It's funny how that happens - orders come in waves of similarity. I've had the year where I was constantly making sideboards, or the year where I was making loads of chairs. Well, this time it was my old favorites -Gloucester coffee tables and pieces form the Sapperton Collection. Perhaps all the change in the world is making people nostalgic for the known, steady, beautiful pieces they can rely on. That's fine with me.

Please be in touch if you have any questions about furniture OR England. I'd love to help in any way I can.

Best wishes,

John and Laura

WHAT'S ON THE BENCH?

Sapperton Windowseat

I made a smaller version of this window seat for our friend in Charlotte. She recently sold her house and wanted a newer, bigger version for her house in Grand Isle. She and her pooch sit here in the mornings drinking coffee, reading, and enjoying the glorious views.

Allie definitely believes this window seat was made exclusively for her!
