This Cherry dining table is a piece of custom furniture recently completed for a local client. There is a complexity to the construction, which might not be evident from the clean lines of the finished piece. I started by creating a full-size drawing of one of the wishbone ends, which allowed me to accurately measure the angle where the legs meet the post and to create the templates necessary for cutting out the parts. The next problem to be solved was how to effectively clamp the legs to the posts. You can see in one of the photos that a "nub" was left on each leg as a clamping surface. The nub was removed after glue-up. I don't think that glue-up would have been possible without it.

I'm happy with how the table came out. It's a nice twist on a standard trestle design with pleasing curves. I hope you like it.
